In short

  • No analytics, no trackers, no cookies of my own.
  • I keep your note to reply to you. It is deleted after 12 months, or sooner if you press “Delete this conversation”.
  • An automatic filter may read it to separate spam; it isn’t used for anything else.
  • Your IP isn’t stored.

The small print follows.

Who is responsible

Álvaro Maldonado Peña, owner of alvaromaldonado.com. For any privacy question, including exercising your rights, write to me through the mailbox. An email address will follow: [[PENDIENTE: contact email]].

What I store and why

When you leave me a note I store:

  • Your signature (name or nickname) and your message, to read it and reply in the conversation.
  • The optional contact, only if you write it, to reply that way. It’s never published.
  • Language and dates, to sort messages and reply in your language.

Your IP address is not stored. Only a fingerprint is computed, with a secret key and a salt that changes every day, to stop mass sending; by the next day it can no longer be linked to you.

Your consent when you send the note (GDPR art. 6.1.a), to reply to you, and my legitimate interest in protecting the mailbox from abuse (art. 6.1.f), for the IP fingerprint and the anti-bot check.

Who else processes the data (processors)

  • Cloudflare: hosts the site and database, runs the anti-bot check (Turnstile) and keeps technical logs for 3 to 7 days. Transfers to the US rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
  • Anthropic: the note’s text may go through its automatic text classification service, in my private assistant, to sort messages and separate spam. It isn’t used to train models.
  • Apple: the notification I get on my phone includes your signature.

How long

  • Conversations: 12 months from when they start.
  • Spam: 30 days.
  • Cloudflare’s backups may take a further 7 to 30 days to disappear.

The conversation key

It’s the only way into the conversation: whoever has it can read it, reply and delete it. Keep it like a password and don’t share it.

Your rights

  • Delete the conversation: the conversation page has a “Delete this conversation” button. It’s deleted right away, on my side too.
  • For anything else (access, rectification, restriction, objection or portability), write to me with the conversation key: since I don’t ask for an account or email, that’s how I know the conversation is yours.
  • If you think I haven’t handled your request properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).

Cookies and your device

The site sets no cookies of its own. Cloudflare’s anti-bot check, which only loads when you start typing, may use the cookies strictly needed for it to work. The site remembers in your browser (local storage, not cookies) the theme you pick and your conversation keys, so you don’t lose them; this never leaves your device and you can clear it from the mailbox itself or by clearing the site’s data.
